And I thought you were crazy building the sandy bridge machine when you had a perfectly good gateway already...
To be honest, I don't place much weight in benchmarks (though it's easy for me to say that when your machine is twice as fast as mine on benchmarks!). As long as the machine is good enough, you may as well keep it. (Though that's probably why I only upgraded from a P4 in 2010...)
I like to benchmark for the sake of doing it. The 34,000 something I pulled with this thing was nice, but that was it. Got 19,000 something with the Gateway. The truth is, if your machine is running what you want to run the way you want to run and doing so smoothly, then all is good the way I see it.
