I lost my memory card in a parking lot and it was found by a friend. I tried putting it in my camera and a message appears that: "Cannot recognize this memory card. Format and use again." or "Insert memory card again." Then I tried putting it in my laptop card reader and it's like the computer doesn't know it exists. Is there any way that I could recover the pictures from it?? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Try running Recuva.

I tried that, however, because the computer doesn't seem to notice the memory card it won't work.

Are the contacts on the card physically damaged?

There is some minor scratching on a couple of them, but I have memory cards with deeper scratches than that that still work fine...

Some dig. cam's use proprietary formatting & can't be recognized by computers. Your computer may tell you that the mem. card has to be formatted, but you'll loose all your pics. If you format the mem. card on your puter, you dig. cam may not recognize it & tell you that it needs to be formatted to be used. I've run into this 3 diff. times.

I think your card is logically damaged so, i would suggest you to use a memory card recovery program.
