Do you think the price will drop in the next few days/weeks ?
As far as I can see on http://www.amazon.co...11,n:2407749011 the current price is 840$ which is extremely unlikely for just a smartphone.

Well that's the unlocked model.
Phones that aren't subsidized generally cost around $400-$900 off contract. On contract it will most likely be around $200-$300.

They say similar to iPhone 4S but I believe the Galaxy S3 has the same 8MP camera as the S2 so shouldn't it be iPhone uses a similar camera to samsung?

I read an article that the U.S. version will only have a dual core instead of quad core it was designed to have, due to conflicts with LTE. So it will have half the horse power under the hood than it was designed to have, how bad will it affect its overall performance? If it does affect it's performance are the providers that cell it gonna still charge premium phone prices for it?

The jury is still out on that. The dual-core chipset will allow for LTE speeds of up to 300mbps, but the phone will likely not do as well in handling 3D graphics.
Most people probably won't even notice the difference.
