This seems like a thinly veiled attempt to undermine Google and their display ads business.

The Internet will shrivel up and die? Not likely. Sounds like sour grapes 'fear-mongerimg' to me. They will just need to be more creative in how to lure us to their 'snake oil' websites. If thet have a good, reasonably priced product, we will beat a path to their doors.
