I am intending to get an MP3 player soon. I am torn between 4 players.1. Creative v100 2GB2. Sandisk c240 1GB or c250 2GB with micro-sd expansion up to 2GB card3. Sandisk Express 1GB with micro-sd expansion up to 2GB cardI am not so worried about the capacity of the players as my music collection is not big anyway.Has anyone used these players before and how good are they? How reliable are they? Do the 2 Sandisk players have USB host support( Mass storage device capablility) so I can just plug-and-play them? I can't find the answer anywhere. Is the expansion slot of the 2 Sandisk players worth it considering they lack storage capacity?( I need to consider the additional cost of the micro-sd card)These 3 players do not have direct line-in recording although I may need one. Can anyone recommend another player that has this feature at a similar price range. Some prerequisite features, FM radio, FM radio recording, ability to play WAV files, a screen showing the tracks, voice recording, OGG and MIDI playback would be appreciated.I also have an MP4 player in mind and that is Creative 1GB Zen V Plus. Has anyone used it before? And is it worth is to pay 50% more for this to get video-playback capability? Or is a 1GB video player to small a capacity?The last question is highly controversial. Are Apple Ipod Nanos worth the money considering their features to other competitors? How reliable is it?

Read the tips below and you will surely find the right mp3 player for your own needs.1) First of all, you need to find out what are your needs. It sounds obvious, but choosing the right mp3 player for you starts right here. You should ask yourself "What kind of mp3 player do I want?" and "What I will be using the mp3 player for?" Can you afford an expensive mp3 player, or do you want a cheaper one? You will use it while driving to and from work, working around the house or exercising? It needs to play video files and to show pictures as well? Or maybe you need it to have a FM radio tuner or digital voice recording features. Find out exactly what you need it for and then it will be much easier to choose.

2) There are two types of mp3 players :) flash mp3 players and hard drive mp3 players.The advantage of the flash mp3 players is that they have no moving parts (they have an embedded memory chip) and are ideal to use while running or exercising. Another advantage is that they are cheaper than hard disk mp3 players. The disadvantage is that flash mp3 players have relatively low memory, but on the other hand they can be upgraded by choosing a larger memory card. The other type of mp3 players are similar to computers, considering the fact that they hold the memory on a hard disk. They are also known as "jukeboxes" and have hard drives of 20 GB or more. And this is their main advantage, because you can store much more content. You can play music and audio books and lately display pictures and play video files as well. If the format of your files isnt suitable for your mp3,you can use some tools such as mp4 converter(http://www.mp4converter.net/mp4-converter-win.html) to convert MP4 to WMV/ DivX, MP4 to MP3, AVI to MP4, MPEG to MP4, and WMV to MP4 video to match your mp3 player. However, you need to know that the hard disk is not upgradeable, so you should decide right from the start how much storage space do you really need. 3) If price is important to you, then you need to know that you can have a flash mp3 player for $100 or less. The most expensive hard drive mp3 players can cost in the $500 range. However, as new models appear all the time, older quality models are now available at cheaper prices, even for the hard drive mp3 players. :D

4) Research before you buy. We often tend to buy on impulse, but please don't do it. It is very easy to get on the Internet and check the websites with reviews from other users or comparison websites. This way you can find "insider" information that you would otherwise have no access to. You can even find websites that will show you web sites with various prices for the same mp3 player, and the differences can be quite large. You never know when you can find a really good deal. Basically, know what you want and need and then do the research. This way you can be almost sure that you will choose the right mp3 player for you. 8)

I couldn't quite understand where these are being played.I know of 4 choices.:wink:1.Winamp on my Computer (free)2.SB Audigy 4 with my sound card i bought anyway.(includes remote control)(on my computer)Plays all media formats.:D3.Home DVD players that most have anyway(has to be mp3 compatible)I make them for my friends) Plays through TV speakers.4.Car radio has to be mp3 compatible)I make them for my friends.I spent money but not just to play mp3's.I wanted a better Sound card.
