Fail.

Apple's new slogan should be "Don't innovate, litigate"

Apple is trully the most riddiculous company in the world at the moment. The only way they can now compete is with their bottomless pit of money for legal expenses. If the motor industry was like the tech industry, we'd have hardly any cars. How the hell can you patent a shape of a device? In any case, the Galaxy S3 shape is nothing like the iPhone shape.

Nobody is claiming a patent on the shape of a device.

It's pretty amazing isn't it? My favorite quote of the day was from the Apple spokesman:

"It's no coincidence that Samsung's latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging, This kind of blatant copying is wrong, and we need to protect Apple's intellectual property when companies steal our ideas."

It looks an awful lot like Apple's claiming to have invented a whole lot of stuff they didn't invent. Unfortunately, typical Apple behavior. They've also tried to ban 29 different devices made by HTC from entering the United States. My personal opinion is that Apple needs to be put in it's place. It's using the patent system to compete instead of it's products. I just don't think it's going to work. It's just going to annoy a lot of people.

If you read the patent abstracts, they are so vague and general that I don't know how they could possibly be a patent. I agree, Apple is old news and isn't interested in innovation, just dollars.

Nothing in that quote says anything about Apple inventing stuff they didn't invent. It looks an awful lot like you don't know what you're talking about.

Apparently, Apple has a patent on the wedge shape now. To me, this is just another example of the failings of the patent system.

I'm thinking about buying a smartphone, and this makes me NOT want to buy an iPhone even more.
