well, they started that rubbish of "for sale in the US only" due to demand, they could have been smarter and started up with a large stock while the hype was still fresh.

I'm still planning on purchasing a Kindle Fire. The reason I won't be purchasing an Apple IPad? The price...I have recently purchased a Gateway netbook and regular sized Lenovo notebook and still have money left over to buy the Kindle Fire. All those purchases will add up to the price of the ONE Apple IPod that I would have purchased.

The Transformer prime is better at $350

The Kindle File lacks cameras, which dramatically reduces the market for the device. It is successful for an ebook reader, but other Android tablet deliver a better experience for a little more money.

If you don't want to wait a bit for some new entries in the $250 market, check out the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7". I had a Kindle Fire, sold it and bought the Samsung 7". It is far better with more features, like BluTooth, two cameras, gps, user-installed memory (up to 32Gb which i use to carry video on trips). The Samsung isn't faster, but the scrolling is smoother and it has the latest Android. I am an avid Amazon media user and I love BT!!! There are some very fast 7" (which I think is the perfect tablet size) coming soon.

I've been thinking of getting a Kindle Fire for my dad. I think it would be a great tablet for him since he is technologically challenged.

I own a Kindle Fire and Now Because of it I purchased a Kindle 4. Definitely Amazon knows how to maintain value of their ebook readers via the Amazon store with lots of freebies, like free ebooks, free apps, etc... I don't regret a bit the purchase of the kindle fire, but knowing the value it carries by being an Amazon Prime Member, it is worth it every penny spent. Yes, it doesn't camera or physical buttons to control volume, but the fact is I don't really need them. I have those on my playbook and my Touchpad, and the fact is that I don't really use them. Probably with the money that I would've used to purchase a hot new iPad, I have used it to load my kindle fire with lots of books, applications, mp3 songs free movie rentals, games and a pay amazon prime membership for four years which on top of everything they ship me almost anything 2 day shipping for free. Yes, the kindle fire is not the hottest tablet, but it carries a greater value than any other tablet.
