I think you're mistaking user FlyingToaster for Mike Cane.

"Micosoft Word," eh?
If I were you, I'd run spellcheck before I started throwing rocks...

Though I should stress it was never written they were Mike's photos actually, and the majority of links are for the forum, directing straight to the posts you need to see--hardly all over.

Anyway, enough with Internet comments melodrama--here's a kitty:

I'm pointing out that something is wrong, and you in return are rude about it. This website is a joke. Talk about throwing rocks.

Apologies if I came across as rude, but to be honest, I was a little insulted by your comment there, hence the thorny response. There is a difference between saying "hey, you guys made a mistake," and comments like, " I hope Elizabeth doesn't get paid to write these articles."
(Just the same, I guess there's also a difference between "thanks for pointing that out" and "you made a typo in your comment about typos"... )

Eh, no offence taken, this is the first time this has happened on any of my hundreds of articles for this site, and I have no problem with people leaving comments to improve a story. Of course, it's a bit annoying that time difference means I might not be able to address it as quick as you would like to see--I will get to it though!
In honesty though, you'd be hard pressed finding a news site/blog where comments that seem rude aren't thrown about. I'd say PCWorld's is actually kind of tame.

P.S. In honesty, usually the editor of an article isn't the ones making the rude comments, I'd expect things to be tame on PCWorld, not be insulted by trying to correct you guys so you don't look silly. Microsoft is still misspelled btw. I'm sorry to come off as harsh if I did, but I just sort of expected more out of this site. I am not a writer by any means but c'mon. Gizmodo did a better article, and I'm the last person to want to admit that because I'm not a fan of them.
What I said still stands that this site is a joke and will not be coming back here for any more technology news that's for sure.

DTNick in case you still have not read the article, the spelling error "Micosoft" still remains in the article. The comment by JenniferSolinski was quoting an error in an article. I hope that is clear enough for you.

As many readers know, PCWorld does not copyedit blog posts. As a result, such posts have a somewhat higher incidence of typographical errors and grammatical problems than do our online feature articles and product reviews.
In this instance, it appears that both the author of the blog post and the editor of GeekTech got distracted by criticism regarding the factual accuracy of the post and didn't realize that the reference to "Micosoft Word" in Ms. Solinski's third comment was a quotation from the post.
We regret the errors.

"Hi Elizabeth, I am FlyingToaster from the 68kmla.org forums. The story on how this came to be is incorrect. It was my nook, not Mike Cane's that the system was installed on and photos originated from."
Sean is right on the mark, he did a brilliant job on this, and went beyond the "talk" and did the walk... and kudos to him!
