Yes, but, the most annoying thing of all is when people whine about annoying features on Facebook.

While the built-in (albeit oft hidden) security settings are a must-do on Facebook, I also the F.B. Purity browser add-on (fbpurity.com) to set and clear out the rest of the visual gunk that has so taken over 'my' Home page. Might I miss something? Possibly. But its only social networking here, people.

I've got 4 sons and 8 grand children, all of whom are avid FB users an who also abhor e mails. Ergo, I  'm on FB daily.

I have tried to avail myself of every privacy feature possible on Facebook. It took a lot of work and clicking. I see what I really have to do is erase my presence and someplace I have a PCWorld article that will help me do that.

The simple solution to all the annoyances of Facebook is to not go on Facebook.

I already use a lot of these fixes to block "annoying" features. Now tell me this one. When you remove an app, how do you stop it from telling your friends you're still playing? Argggggggggg

Simpler fix for some of this stuff... When these apps are asking for permissions in the first place, click where it says 'visible to everyone' and change that to 'visible to only me' If it is already installed, you can change the permissions in the facebook privacy settings

NO, No, No, No & NoNO. A Coffee-Break level Slide Show is NOT a respectable lead article in what should be a primary technical news magazine. Sheldon would probably comment to the effect, " This is just SO Wrong on so many levels".

The best way to prevent ALL faxebook annoyances is to not have a facebook account and to forbid one on a family shared computer.

Issue solved!!

After a year of what can only be described of the most aggravating experience of my life, I'm dumping facebook for good. I spent most of my time there trying to lock down my setting to no avail. What a total waste of time it was!

you forgot a huge negative, in that FB has very poor back up tools, so even if you make mistakes, now you can only take part of your creations.

Even if you like FB, or enjoy playing their games, you still have to put up with the ads for unnecessary crap or info for those games. "Give us real money and you'll have more fun!!" ... and more interruptions!!!! I tried to put out a contract on the\at damned pink-haired floozy in Cafe World (Amelia) but no takers!
