Nokia doesn't get it. Its phones have to be available on all the major networks. Despite a small number of vociferous detractors of two-year contracts, the vast majority of American consumers, unlike European and Asian counterparts Nokia is used to, expect free to low-cost phones. OK, there is also the prepaid segment, but those are mostly budget users who aren't going to spring for Carl Zeiss optics anyway.
While Lumia 900 is exclusive to AT&T, Nokia should still have put better alternatives elsewhere.
Instead, I picked up a free HTC One S during the T-Mobile Father's Day promotion. Because my only other real choice was the inferior Lumia 710.

Megapixels have increased so much in the past decade, that raw pixel count is among the WORST ways to judge a camera's quality.
If I had $700 and was in the market for a camera and a phone... I'd get an Android phone in the $100-$200 range, and a DSLR in the $500-$600 range.
Truth be told, though, what I did get was a Canon SX40. A "mere" 12.1 megapixel - but a 35X OPTICAL zoom, zero inch macro capability, noise reduction, image stabilization... and SDXC (64+ GB) card support.
Edit: Forgot to mention... and paid under $400 for it.
