I'm sorry. I see a Chrome knock-off. Am I the only one? I love Firefox and use it for everything except most email links (like PCWorld). For those I use IE. Firefox is better because of all of the add-ons, namely NoScript, AdBlockPlus, Flashblock, TabMixPlus... sorry, getting away from me. Why they feel the need to emulate other browsers at this point is beyond me.

Blotto hits the nail on the head. Chrome, Linux etc are for the basic people who only do basic things. Firefox and Microsoft (it pains me to say) are for real people who in their lives do an immense variety of activities and business for which apps are only available using Ms and Firefox, e.g in business all the programs for specialized work such as medical etc and in my own case genealogy where almost all apps and data cd's are only windows based. Same with Firefox, in genealogy work it is Firefox apps that make the difference, as an example "table2clipboard", "PrintEdit", "FireFTP" etc.

Sometimes the developers forget their market and try to follow the mob, in this case Chrome. And why Firefox shouldn't forget this and continue to allow maximum customization etc. and not be another clone.

NB before the Linux fanboys try to flame I actually support the Linux concept and regularly try the various new releases. But none of my specialized genealogy apps and data cd' s work on it. Same for all the other specialized business and hobby apps. Hence in reality Linux can never replace MS as it will never get traction due to this problem.

I think the smooth tab will waste a few pixels, and so will the space necessary for separating background tabs without an outline.

Everyone having issue with the rounded corners and silliness of it all, I give you: Metro!
Much more efficient with screen real estate and to the point.
Just sayin'.

I think its nicer. Its not a Chrome knockoff, its more beautiful. It will be interesting to see how this comes together without Microsoft's Aero style in Windows 8 though.

Nah, I've been using this for months with an add-on and it doesn't waste any space as the curve is half in the tab beside it.

Notice the "new tab page". It toggles between "most recent pages" and a "blank screen". It doesn't take a genius to guess that the blank screen is going to be Mozilla's version of a "Chrome Web Store". Since Google, in a roundabout way, owns Mozilla, I don't see why so many people seem so surprised that Firefox continues to emulate Chrome. If you want to get a preview what is going to happen to that stupid orange button, just check out the wrench in Chrome. Oh, and the "options" menu will undoubtedly be changed to the "settings" menu. Get used to it and if you don't like it, use IE, lol. Mozilla is Google's biatch.
