Yea I mean the new IOS 6 can be installed on a iPhone 3gs and up. Wait no it can't, only a stripped down version of it. But it can on all iPads.... wait no it can't, only the iPad 2 and 3.... hmmmm
Weird.... Microsoft isn't doing anything different...

And Android Ice Cream Sandwich won't find it's way to my EVO 4G, but by the time ICS has wide availability my phone will be over 2 years old. The 3GS is a 2 year old phone, the original iPad is a 2 year old device.
But the Lumia 900, a supposedly "state of the art" WinMo phone, is obsolete today, only a few months after its release. You can't tell me that MS and Nokia both didn't know that this was a one and done phone that wouldn't support WM8.
I think MS's actions here are shameful and current WM device owners deserve more than a half hearted oppology for having their recently acquired devices stranded. When HP screwed me on my webOS phone at least they got out of the business. MS and Nokia want to sell more devices, why should I trust them?

Every time that Android changes the their phones software from Gingerbread 2.3 to Honeycomb 3.0, Ice Cream 4.0 and you never get the upgrade to your old phone because the carriers do not support this, it's ok. Just get the next new phone.
But if Microsoft upgrade from Mango 7.5 to 8 and you can upgrade, Microsoft becomes the worst company. People, get real. You were happy when you bought the phone. These small changes is not going to kill you because you can not get it. Every year car makers come with a new model with some new features. People don't get upset because they cannot upgrade their old car with the new feature. They keep the car from 5 to 6 years before the replace the car and some people prefer a older model.
So stop crying and live with it. There are many people that are happy with Windows XP and refuse to move to the newest OS. Windows XP is more than 11 years old.

Yes, but iOS is a very well designed operating system, while WP has just now slipped out of the shell. WP has several functions needs to be improved, that even the stripped down version of iOS contains. It would be inevitable for WP users to get a proper support, but instead Microsoft simply does not care about the older versions of WP. The most shameful thing from MS is that they launch an update without any remarkable changes (WP 7.8) and they postpone the publishing until WP8 gets the proper introduction. It is simply a disgusting customer care policy and it may possible that WP8 sales would satisfy MS and the new users, the "old users" would revolt from the company with a massive number.
