C++/DX, C#/XAML & HTML/JS are WinRT in full. How is that a 'small sliver?' Without access to the Windows Phone 8 SDK, how can you tell that it is so lacking?

You would need to see the actual WP8 SDK to make such claims. Such an SDK exists but it's only internal right now.

Going by the lack of details in your article, it's clear you have not done your homework.

Doesn't sound like the author knew what he was talking about. All he mentioned not working was XNA. No examples otherwise. Gotta back up bold claims like this with some substance otherwise you're just fishing for clicks.

Apps can be written using Silverlight for both Windows 8 and Windows phone 8, which means its just a matter of recompiling. to allow an app written for windows phone 8 to run on windows 8
