I couldn't agree more. I do however think this is merely the first in a long line of low priced, high spec'ed Android tablets to come to market. These Tegra 3 chips were designed to be higher performance and lower cost. The real beauty here is that this shows the technology is maturing to a point where even the low end is going to have impressive specs. This is merely the beginning of a value play that will enhance Android and remove the weaker players.

You can read your kindle books and listen to your Amazon music. I don't know of an app that allows you to watch your Amazon movies and TV shows other than what's on the Kindle Fire.

I have a Kindle Fire. If you have a specific question about it I'll try to answer it. I have a growing collection of tablets here:
G-Slate from T-Mobile
Galaxy Tab 10.1 from Verizon
iPad 3rd gen from Verizon
Galaxy Tab 2 7" WiFi
Kindle Fire 7" WiFi
And I have on order the Nexus 7.

Did you order it already? One thing I keep hearing is that the screen is "oddly dim". I typically only use brightness at about half way so I wonder if this is a problem at all. Won't have an opinion until I take delivery. Mine has not even shipped at this point.

Would have appreciated that as well. I bet Samsung does that with much the same specs and price. Just hang on a little longer.

Nothing is built to last anymore, quite the shame of it all.

You have an iPad, why would you be looking at another tablet in the first place? Also, since you probably have purchased apps for your iPad, those purchases are what have you STUCK with your iPad, not the lack of apps for Android.
I would seriously like to know the number of people that convert from iPhone or iPad to Android, it has to be a low percentage because of the cost of leaving Apple, once you buy in they have you, it's tough to kiss all that money goodbye and start over.

I have both and I don't see a high cost of leaving Apple at all. The apps are very low cost. Buying Angry birds again is free on Android. QuickOffice if you don't like the free PolarisOffice that comes with Android is maybe $15. That is likely the most expensive app there is. Games are not that expensive. And many of the apps people really use, like facebook, twitter, the browsers and so on are free. Shifting from one platform to another is easy these days.
You can upload your entire iTunes music collection into Google's cloud. I did just that. Audible books as long as you have been buying them directly from Audible are 100% compatible and play in the Android device. Podcasts are free. The cost of moving over for me was essentially so small I didn't even consider it to be a barrier in any way at all.
