While it would be terrible for terrorists to misuse a drone, it has to be asked why our government wants to maintain such constant surveillance on our own population. Anyone who thinks our government would never misuse such information doesn't remember history very well.

a crash of a drone tragic as it sounds is not the terror of a fully fuelled jumbo jet.car bombs present a more destructive force and are available now to terrorists.not sure i would worry about terrorists trying to steal a drone and crash it, i would worry more about a regular kid just testing to see if he/she can and creating a crash is more of a concern.i would hate to see a crash for any reason but terrorist is not something i would worry about. this just doesnt fit the keep it simple stupid mentality of terrorists that have made the news.

Rather then crashing a drone into something I'd think that terrorists that got control of one could use it for it's original purpose: surveillance. They could check out potential target, security around them, etc.

There's also potential for gangs and drug cartels to gain control of drones and use them to thwart police.

You still think it was terriots from another country who hijacked jets and flew them into targets?
You really need to go and look at the facts and stop believing fantasy. Look at the jets that struck WTC...they were both military gradeaircraft, not commerical. Look in Pennsylvania. A plane crashes in an open field, yet theer are no bodies, one ambulance, no debri, not plane pieces, no engines, no tall section, so burn up fuselage, no luggage, no paper no nothing. And I guest a plane flying into the side of a building that si less than 10 stories tall woudl only create a 20 ft hole?

Your own Gov't can be terrorist too. Did you think of that?

I am not worried about the drones being used by a hacker. What Iam worried about is the gov't that own them using them improperly and then blaming it on another group just so we can start another war.

As far as the destructive powers of the drones, they are minimal.
HOWEVER, as a "fear-maker", how do you think the public will react if they fly drones into a 747 and cause it to crash?
Yes ML2376, I think they would use it for surveillance, at least in the beginning. After all, good tactics say to not tip your hand off too early. ;)

Re the Pentagon crash, the wings were sheared off upon impact; therefore only the fuselage created a significant hole in the building. The passenger jets that hit the WTC were commercial 747s. Do you really think that if the American government faked all this, they would use military aircraft?

"one has to wonder about the noise pollution created by 30,000 extra aircraft buzzing around"

Are you kiding? noise? really? lol Nooo, that would never be a issue, how about hackers? A hacker gets a hold of an Obama Drone.. there goes the Statue of Liberty! "Boom!"

Now that is a scary thought.
