About once a week, when online,I get this warning image at the bottom of my monitor. I immediately get offline. When I go back online it's gone. I run my anti-virus program and PC optimizer, but it still comes back about once a week. Does anybody know what this is, and what I can do about it? Thanks for your help.

Ron

That's interesting - that looks like the 'plugin crashed' screen from Firefox.

What AV program are you using? Also, PC Optimizer software is generally junk.

Thank you, Brian. That sure does look like the "Shockwave plugin has crashed" image. Thanks for that. I'll check on that right away. And, I use PC Pitstop Optimize 2.0, and frankly, since I've been using it, about 3 years now, I've had a trouble free computer (except for this incident).

Thanks again.

Generally, there's no reason to use those programs. What happens if you disable it?

Well, there's no need to disable it. It doesn't run automatically. I run it once a week myself. Have you checked this specific product out? http://www.pcpitstop...re/optimize.asp
I think it does a good job on my PC. I was having all sorts of problems before I started running it, and now it works pretty smoothly.

Anyway, that odd thing doesn't appear to be in an application or anything? If you open Task Manager when it happens, is anything odd listed?
