If Comcast is available in your area, consider them. Their customer support is terrible, but their internet service is fairly reliable. I have a 15mbps down/3mbps up deal from them that's $20/month for 6 months, $40/month for 1.5 years, and $60 after that. (At which point I'll probably threaten to cancel so they'll lower the rate.)

Hey W7B, good to see you again. How do you like Nashville? I've lived quite a few places around the country, and Nashville was among my favorites. It's probably the only place I've lived that I'd move back to in a heartbeat if I had a good job offer there. Back when lived there (about 10-12 years ago) I had dial-up, so I can't help you out with any firsthand experience on ISPs, but hopefully Coastie's link will be helpful. Good luck!

What's the cost of similar cable service? You might be able to get the FIOS discounted if you mention the competition.

For internet, At&t or Verizon 4G may be an option.

If you need a cheap android cellphone plan, see Virgin Mobile

For phones, I'd look into T-Mobile prepaid. I'm on the $30 plan and it's working out quite nicely for me.
