Multiple Av's Miss Trojan

If Avast is supposedly running full time, why did it, and Malwarebytes (which rarely is able to find anything anymore), and Windows Defender miss a trojan that Superantispyware found?

I would suggest you uninstall Avast Completely and start anew. This Avast web page will help in removing the software:
IF this happens again after the re-installation of Avast, repeat the uninstall procedure and install a different one. Have you tried
MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials)? I have been using it since the beginning and have no complaints so far.
Choose the proper version x64 for a 64 bit OS or x86 for a 32 bit OS.
This is why we install security products in a Layered configuration. To have more than one opinion which , seems to work in your case.
As for Windows Defender , I would stick with what works. Maybe , on occasions, you could also give this scanner a chance to do it's thing:
DrWebCureIt. It is a very effective and recommended scanner and doesn't need to be installed. It's only an .exe :
Download from MajorGeeks ;
Make sure to "Run as Administrator"
After the file has downloaded, disable your current Anti-Virus and disconnect from the Internet.
Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file, then click the Start button, then the OK button to perform an Express Scan
This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it.
Once the short scan has finished, Click on the Complete scan radio button. (will take some time, be patient)
BUT, before Any type of scan, Please use CCleaner (the Broom Option ONLY) to clean out the Temps files and other files that could be
hiding malware in waiting.
Please posts your results and/or concerns.
