Best Buy Copies The Apple Store

And here we were led to believe that WorstBuy was going under, considering that they shut down all their stores in the U.K. and 50-60 stores in the States!
It's a gawd-awful place to shop for anything, considering that the Associates are young punks, for the most part, have no pk (product knowledge) and insist on shoving add ons (service plans, installation, unneeded extras) down people's throats!
Best to shop elsewhere!

It would be a shame to see them go. These young punks as you say, are just starting out. They are trying to earn a living, just like all of us. these people lose their jobs and they dont go to other stores and restaurants in the area. I try to buy from BB whenever possible.

The open market rewards those who support the customer. BB has not kept up. It would be their own fault if they do not recover, not the customers'.

After all the time and effort they've put into researching what works at retail over the past 15 years, they decide to copy another approach. While that might seem like a good idea, they have showed their hand: They appear to be out of original ideas. They need to break new ground while they can. Not take bits and pieces from a competitor, run trials in a handful of stores and see what happens.
Reduce store size, train employees better, get fully behind online buying and local pickup, and *create* excitement and new opportunities. Their branded products were a start, but so half-hearted, nobody cared. Any monkey with a keyboard knows they can quickly get pricing and credible reviews within minutes, and that - while "there" - the monkey can place an order, save on tax and sometimes get it shipped for nothing. Next item on the monkey's to-do list!
Why bother going in (driving, parking, setting aside at least an hour), sizing up the salesperson (do they really know what they're talking about?), then wondering if the price is competitive? That's the way it is today.
