I'm not sure what you're asking about HDCP, but bluray playback is excellent on VGA, video quality is stunning.

I thought you needed HDCP in order to get a resolution higher than 960x540 or something like that. (or can VGA still use the full resolution, despite lacking it?)

That's what I've been saying, at least with my setup.
