I am using windows xp but after upgrading to windows 7 all my folders becomes read only. I have googled but not finding any proper solution. I have tried in command line, editing the registry but nothing happened.

Perhaps this will work: Right-click the folder you want to edit, select Properties at the bottom, and you will see one of the options is Read Only. Uncheck the box then click Apply and OK.

BTW, when you were doing the upgrade did you copy all of your folders to DVD then move them to Windows 7? That will always change the folders to Read Only since Windows thinks it's still reading from the DVD (I found this out the hard way  ). If that's the case making the change in the folder properties will definitely work.
