Need to buy Micro SD SDHC Flash Memory card for a new Garmin nuvi 50LM GPS unit. Two questions: 1) Are Super Talent, SanDisk, and Kingston all about the same in terms of quality so one should just buy whichever is cheapest, and 2) 4,8, or 16 GB? Thanks.

Hey Klaatu !
For me, these are the ones I'd choose from:
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820231566
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820171386
Why?
First , lots of space.
Second , fast read & write as they are class 10
Third, durability, I have owned a Sandisk for some time now and never fails.

I've never heard of Super Talent. Sandisk is a good brand that I've used for a while, and I suppose gskill is worth considering too. (I haven't used any of their flash memory, only RAM.)

Went with a Sandisk 4GB Micro SDHC Class 4 with SD Adapter. From what I read, maps consume around 2GB and this is bare-bones unit with no mp3 capability, and classes higher than 4 are necessary for cameras. This page proved helpful also for those interested.
Thanks for the advice. Nice to know it's still available.

Hey Klaatu !
You're welcome.
You're right. I was just pointing out the many possibilities of having more space.
It does say on that page that, your unit can accommodate 16GB cards and class 10
as well. But, I guess if you don't have a need for it, you are also saving some of your
hard earned cash !!!
Hope to hear from you again and not just to help solve problems.
