On the upside, nobody really wants a Blackberry anyway, so the delay probably won't have any affect when all is said and done.

Well, it's not really true that no one wants a Blackberry, but it is true that the public is crazy about Android, iOS, and maybe Windows 8.
I'm not advising investors here, but it really is too early to write off RIM. They've still got a healthy share of the global market and nice chunk of change in the bank.
If BB 10 really is all that, consumers will beat a path to their door and if not, they will probably wither on the vine, but in reality nobody really knows for sure.
For myself, I'd like to see RIM pull through, but I'm not making rash prognostications either.

Utterly shocking to me to hear this bs it is the very "noise" from Android, Apple and now maybe MS that is rapidly eroding what was a huge installed base to build on. I really wonder if there is anything significant left in 2013 to make developers care. I am an Android user but always root for the competition since in the end its good for all of us. One less player is a bad thing.

I have a BB. This is my fifth smartphone. I love it. Am a traditionalist. Appreciate the security and options for international calling via Sprint. I am due for an upgrade in three weeks and I am depressed that BB won't be available. I am not rich. I'm going for the Samsung Galaxy 111 for the next two years. And, yes, I still have a very good deal from a Sprint contract. I'm keeping it.
