I think your safest bet is to order it on Google Play, where there's no risk of the tablet going out of stock.

They're still out in the wild. I bought one at a GameStop yesterday. The best bet is to call around and check.

Having ordered through the Play store on 6/27 during the keynote and still awaiting movement on my shipment, I would advise against placing orders through it. 3rd party retailers have done a much better job so far.

It's a really good tablet. As everyone can see sales are quite strong for the Nexus 7.

Do not panicked, their properly plenty sitting in warehouse, waiting for the media to report a shortage before they are release to retail. Call it free advertising.

Don't forget you can use Google Drive (free version) and get 5gb of Cloud storage as well, making that 10gb of total space on the 8gb version and 18gb of total space if you get the 16gb version

Yes, adopt the Google eco system and stream pretty much everything. Storage isn't that big of deal for me now.

Don't lose hope. I'm 99% sure it will come on Monday or Tuesday, as shipments have already begun.

Shipments started on Friday and I got a confirmation it has been shipped at 8 o'clock at night, so odds are it won't come in till Tuesday which isn't bad, but I would have liked to received it before they started selling it in retail stores. Hopefully Google will give us something more for pre-ordering from them and having to wait the extra time for it to come rather than from a store like best buy or gamestop.

Having preordered it the day after the Google I/O, I am disappointed that people who didn't could get their hands on the Nexus before I did. (I am still waiting for mine to be delivered.) It is just not fair and defeats the purpose of pre-ordering in the first place.

I picked up my daughter's last Wednesday and it was clear I was not officially getting one but we paid for it and took one home and she loves it. From what I could tell she got the first one in South Carolina. It helps to know the right people or maybe a fluke.

If you don't have wi-fi, a tablet may not be the best device for you.

Remember that the stores are selling ONLY the $249 version. Also people who bought it from stores had to pre-order as well. I called around on Friday and all just on pre-order!

For handy access across several "space-challenged" gadgets, ZI use and recommend a Wi Drive.

Just found out, if you ordered your Nexus 7 from Google Play, it's coming tomorrow! Woot! (just thought it would be useful for some to know)
