I took some videos on SGII. They show up sideways on pc in mp4 format. It looks like I can change the orientation in Windows Movie maker, but when I try to save it as mp4 - it says "invalid format". It has it's own format to save it in and doesn't appear to have any other options. Any other way to do this?

I want to share this with my family. I can't get Dropbox to do it no matter what, and am trying Skydrive now. First need to get em upright.

Hi, Usrn.

Did you shoot the video with the phone in portrait position--so that the image is wider than it is tall?

Still photos can be in either portrait or landscape. It's a simple matter of how you hold the camera. And you can easily rotate them with software in a PC.

But videos are different. They are always landscape--wider than they are tall.

There may be software that can rotate the image, shrink it, and fit the tall image inside the wide one using pillarboxing (black bars on the side). But I don't know of such a program, off-hand.
