Hi htelinn. This does seem like a spyware or virus problem. There are two things you can do without digging into the registry. The first is a straight forward System Restore to a point before you notice this problem. If you are using Windows XP click on Start and then Accessories and then System Tools and final click on System Restore. At this point, you can pick a date to which you would like to revert your computer. Once you restart your computer, see if that solved the problem. You will not lose any files; however, you will have to reinstall and programs you installed since that System Restore point. The second thing you can do is run a more intensive scan. AVG is a great virus protection application but it should not be half of your protection. I would advise doing a full scan with either or both of these applications:Rootkit Revealer - This program will search your computer for any potentially harmful rootkits. It will not remove the rootkits, but it will give you a report that you can provide to individuals in forums such as www.bullguard.com so they can help you remove it.http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/Security/RootkitRevealer.mspxDr. Web Cure It - This is a fully intergrated virus protection. This application searches deep within your computer; places where AVG and other programs do not. You can set this program to find and automatically remove and virus it finds.http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/http://download.drweb.com/drweb+cureit/

Thanks for your replyI've already got the way to change it back to default. it's just a registry tweak. I've delete the default value of the following keyHKCRfoldershellopenHKCRfoldershellexploreYes, I've scanned my computer by using Bitdefender and I found no virus. Thanks a lot for your reply.

Way to Go!!! 8) See, doesn't it feel great figuring the problem out. I wanted to stay away from the registry but since you felt comfortable going in there, great!Good Job.
