The courts sentenced Apple do do something Samsung would have sued them for under any other circumstances.
Tim Cook must be pinching himself trying to figure out if this is reality or only a wild dream he's having.
I just can't believe that Apple

Unbelievable outcome!

I don't think you understand.
The courts are TELLING Apple to post on their site and to pay for advertising to let people know that the UK justice system found the Galaxy Tab to be "uncool".
Samsung CANNOT sue them for saying that!
Unbe-freaking-lievable!
Oh! I forgot - Apple lost...

Apple is supposed to post Sammy didn't infringe not they are are uncool ('uncool ' according to a judge, possibly the worst group of people to decide what is or isn't 'cool').

My only question is with this verdict in place, what will the outcome be here in the US. If the US finds in favor of Apple, things will get really ugly...

I think you may want to re-read the article.
Samsung was found to not have infringed on the grounds that Samsung devices are not as easy to use OR as cool. Samsung won, and was PWNED at the same time. This is no different than the suckers in Battlefield 3 "win" a match, then Ace-Squad (top team) goes to the loosing squad. Sure they won, but at the same time, they lost severely.

The judges words pale compared to Apple having to advertise on their own site, and in newspapers that Samsung did not copy their design. You have it completely backwards.

You are not thinking this through:
"Legal disclaimer: Samsung was found to be innocent of copying our designs in a court of law based on their devices being less cool, or user friendly. We apologize to anyone inconvenienced."
Yes, Apple wins.

Your point is taken. I still think that having to state this on Apple's own site for 6 months is humiliating. See this as a sever slap in Apple's face. Especially because this is coming from a judge. The over 1,000,000 a day of Android activations means kids already "know" Android is cool. Nothing a judge says will sway that. Nothing.

Ok, I am not sure how this is a slap in the face of Apple. Played correctly, that judge handed them an entire marketing campaign. Apple should be thanking that judge. At the same time, I almost expect Samsung to try to fight that judgment.
