Madden '13 is set to be released on August 14th. This game is packed with features including a new physics engine, an overhauled presentation, and the Connected Careers. The new physics engine called the "Infinity Engine" will change the game of Madden as you know it. The NHL series as seen the success of adding a true physics engine, and that success looks to carry over to the Madden series. Football should be based on specific hit points with specific reactions coming from every point possible. This should allow for some pretty gnarly tackles.

Wizorb Makes Old School Cool Again

You will use them both a great deal, depending on how much magic you have left and what the situation is at the time. The way the developers integrated the use also added an awesome twist to the mechanics. If you time your button press when the orb hits your paddle you will get different results. For instance, if you hit the light magic button at the right time, the ball becomes a fireball that will demolish a bunch of blocks at once. With the X button the ball will stop in mid-flight and will be controllable with the D-Pad. This helps with trying to hit those hard to reach and out of the way blocks.

Darksiders II – What Hardcore Gamers have been waiting for!
source:gamersbliss.com

Quote

Not a lot of current gen games have picked up on this nifty little feature for a game. Yet Darksiders II gives you more loot than you can feed… well your loot. One of the most hardcore features in the game is the new loot system that has been added. With the ability to pick up 10 swords and feed it to that kick ass sword you found off of the first demon you killed, now that is epic. By feeding your weapon the same weapon type they become even stronger! And this doesn’t apply to just weapons, it also applies to armor!

Exploring the unknown parts of XCOM: Enemy Unknown
source:joystiq.com

Posted Image

Quote

Should you manage to take down a UFO (or if it lands of its own accord), you'll be able to investigate the crash site, kill any surviving aliens, and harvest their technology for research.

Campaign missions are separate from UFO missions. These missions allow the members of XCOM – the in-game world's Extraterrestrial Combat Unit – to keep the global peace, rewarding players with funds and resources like scientists and engineers. Meanwhile, UFO missions offer more tangible rewards in the form of recovered alien technology. DeAngelis likens UFO missions to finding a treasure chest – "a treasure chest full of horrible things that want to kill you," Solomon says.

Uncharted 3′s Biggest Patch Ever Detailed
source:blog.eu.playstation.com

Quote

When we announced Uncharted 3 we set out to make the multiplayer component as robust and compelling as any multiplayer game out there. We took lessons learned from our summer beta and used them for our launch. Since launch, new design ideas and community feedback have been applied to every patch we’ve released. We’re now on patch lucky number 13 and we’ve planted some fresh ideas deep into the game. Patch 1.13 for Uncharted 3 multiplayer has been months in the making and it’s our biggest patch ever.

Patch 1.13 will be available today, 7th August. If you’re not a fan of reading, check out the patch notes video below for a full rundown of what’s included. We wanted to give you some quick highlights on some of the new exciting content you can expect when you download the patch.

Still Playing: Binary Domain
source:edge-online.com

Quote

They’re adaptable, too. Shoot any other enemy’s arm off, and that’s usually enough; here, there’s an eerie, unnerving calm to the way your foe sinks to one knee to pick up the weapon that fell when their limb did. Blast off their legs, and they’ll continue to drag themselves forward. Few players will complete the campaign without suffering a jolt of surprise as a prone robot, carelessly ignored, lurches forward to wrap its metallic fingers around Marshall’s leg.

What makes them such satisfying opponents is the feedback. Quite apart from blasting off a limb or a head – the latter of which is particularly useful as they're rendered unable to tell friend from foe, opening fire on their mechanoid allies – simply spraying rounds of fire into an enemy's torso scatters pieces of its protective carapace across the environment. Better still, you’re actively rewarded for doing so: the incentive for a headshot is a healthy helping of experience points, though you’ll get even more for demolishing them piece by piece. The weapons, while ostensibly an uninspiring selection, are a joy. SMG rounds buzz angrily like a swarm of metallic wasps, while the pump-action shotgun proves a delightfully uncouth way to deal with the gymnastic ninja-bots in the closing act.

I watched the entire video and didn't really see anything that impressive. Unfortunately, to me anyway, it just looked like another typical Madden release. What do you guys think?

New Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault Gameplay Video (Gamescom)
source:onlysp.com

http://www.onlysp.co.../08/ratchet.png

Quote

Gamescom 2012 has given us a more detailed look at the next full-fledged Ratchet and Clank installment. As previously mentioned by Insomniac Games, R&C Full Frontal Assault (Q-Force outside North America) retains the gameplay mechanics of original Ratchet and Clank games like Tools of Destruction and Crack in Time. Insomniac has added a twist this time around with a tower defense mechanic that will give you a new way to play. As you’ll see from the video, the game looks and moves just like original R&C games, but keep watching and you will hear notifications that your Q-Force base is under attack. The player quickly moves to defend the base from an onslaught of enemies.

Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault releases this Fall for PSN and the PlayStation Vita.

Preview: Getting Started with the Dishonored Gamescom
source:psxsense.nl

Quote

Dishonored is a game in many different ways can be played, so each person will experience the game differently. Unlike my colleagues, I got a mission that is presented especially for the stealth elements of the game is well suited. The main character gets the task of infiltrating a masked ball in which you really should merge into the crowd, so you do not draw any attention to you. Your goal there is a guilty person to detect and then to explain. The fact that a masked ball makes recognizing your target just a bit harder. Unless you like massacres wreaks most likely end in a lot of blood loss from their own veins, go on stealth mode. Why complicate things when it easily?

Sony Confirms New PlayStation Plus Goodies
source:thesixthaxis.com

Quote

Sony has confirmed its next batch of PlayStation Plus goodies.

As well as pushing the available cloud storage space up to 1GB for PS3 owners, Sony also announced that Red Dead Redemption will soon join the pack of games available.

In addition, though, and hidden away from the main conference, is news that SEGA’s Hell Yeah! is October’s game of the month, and 24 Caret Games’ Retro/Grade will be part of the PlayStation Plus Presents series soon.

These will be in addition to RipStone’s Big Sky Infinity and Knytt Underground, as we’ve already mentioned.
