I just bought the 27 Inch Acer S273HL. And I want to connect my speakers directly to the monitor, but the sounds only coming from the inbuilt speakers in the monitor. How do I fix this? The seller in the store had the same monitor and he said that he had speakers connected to it and that it worked fine. He said something about installing the drivers for the monitor and change if the monitor should give sound from the inbuilt speakers or the other speakers, but I don't get how to install the drivers. Found this in Acer's site: http://support.acer....ault.aspx?tab=1
But I don't understand what to do with it?

I want to have my PS3 connected to the monitor with a HDMI cable, and that works fine, but I don't want the sound from the inbuilt speakers. I only have a laptop, and I have connected the monitor through the HDMI to my laptop, as the seller said to me to do, but I cant figure out what to do with the files that I downloaded from Acer's site. Help me please :(

Hi, and welcome to the forums.
I did some googling on your monitor, and it appears to have only an "audio in" port, nothing for audio out (to your external speakers). I think you were mislead by the salesman.

I think the 3.5mm jack on it is an input, not an output. On your PC, right-click the volume icon in the taskbar, output devices, and set the analog speakers as the default.

On the monitor, push a menu button, push the one for volume, and turn it all the way down.
