Didn't FF IX do this with plants in your mog house to harvest crystals and stuff?

This article is so vague as to be useless. It tells nothing concrete about the farming in-game content or even inspires any player to even look into the concept.

Personally, I could see where farming could greatly benefit certain gatherers in collecting herbs, tanning materials (leatherworking), fuel or padding (metalworking, e.g. Armoror, weaponcrafter, etc.), or even other ingredients for other professions. How Farming could work with these could make Farming a strongly beneficial, money-making new profession instead of running all over the countryside searching for collectibles.

Aww man. I didn't know you're the only one who can be at your farm.
I was kinda looking forward to taking my firends to my farm and showing them what I grew. :(
