.ht access

Hi All. I am not sure where to turn for advice on .ht access so I figured I would drop a thread in here. I am creating a site that I only want select people to access. I was told that I could create a .ht access but I am not sure where to begin.The site is created and ready for the security but I do not know where exactly I should put the .ht access code or what code I should use. Any advice or suggestions would be great.I have been using FrontPage but I just got Dream Weaver so if it's better for me to be in DW, let me know.
