I have an HP desktop (pretty high-end) just shy of two years old, with Win 7 Home Premium. Somewhere along the line (can't say exactly when), the screen began refreshing constantly, every 15-20 seconds. It manifests (e.g. is visible) in two ways: complete screen refresh (Outlook 2007, Power Desk Pro 8, PDF Creator Pro 7, Collectorz.com Movie Collector & Music Collector); or with the pointer doing the "spinning circle" briefly (Firefox, IE, Adobe Acrobat x (full), Word 2007, WordPerfect X5, Quicken 2010). It's driving my nuts! I have searched and searched on this and can find nothing about it; and can't find any settings on the computer to account for this behavior. Any ideas as to what is causing this, and how I can stop it?

Can You Use Another Monitor, Just To Be Certain The Problem Is Not Monitor Related ?

I Had A Similar Problem And Changing Monitors Was The Only Way To Solve It.

I assume when you say "screen refresh" you mean the image on the monitor blanks and completely redraws. Is this correct?

If so, it is that it goes to a blank Windows desktop and then "redraws" everything? Or is it that it does to a completely blank/dark monitor and the comes back?
