There is an audio file in My Music, and when ever i try to do anything with it, copy delete, or play it causes windows to freezes up and i am forced to restart.
So i was hoping if any one knew a way to fix this, or a way that i can delete that file, whose name i know, with out interacting directly with it.
Thanks!

Open the command prompt (as an admin if under Vista or 7), and switch to the drive this is on. (if on the C drive, type C:) Try running chkdsk /r on the drive. (It'll have to restart to run that if the file is on the OS drive.)

Hi, clancm, and welcome to the forum.

If Brian's suggestions don't work out, boot into Safe Mode and try it there.

And if that doesn't work out, download and install Eraser. Then, in Windows Explorer, right-click the file and select Eraser>Erase on Restart. Then reboot.

If that doesn't work, prepare a Linux Live CD or flash drive, boot from that, and remove the file from inside Linux. (If you need instructions for doing that, we'll provide them.)

And thank you for some alternate ideas Lincoln Spector!
