I have Sony Bravia that will not store the TV channels after the TV is switched off.
You have to retune the TV eaxh time you switch it on.
Any thoughts on this will be most welcome.
Someone has suggested Quote "That seems to be a processor on the main board that is simply not doing what it needs to be doing"
Is this correct??? Will it be expensive to repair??
Many thanks
Stephen

AlleluiaPTL: Welcome to PC World forums. Almost all of the new HDTV sets are as complex as any desktop PC you'll find on the market. Like any PC, they have a processor and a setup/boot routine thay must complete. And, like any PC, they have a small battery that holds the setup info so you don't have to set it up everytime you turn it on. This appears to be your problem. I've not been inside a Sony unit yet but expect it to be like the others and have a small "coin" type battery to keep the setup parameters in memory when shut off. A service tech would find this an easy fix and not be too expensive but there can be many causes for the fault.

Is this a new TV? Or new behavior on an old one?
If it's a new TV, it's under warranty and can be returned or repaired without charge.

Try restoring the factory settings, you can get the steps in the manual of that set on how to restore factory settings if you find it hard to do it straight from the menu...
