I have the HP C7200 series All In One Wireless. I have had it installed on this present PC in the past. I was having conflicting issues so I uninstalled the HP software and installed it on another PC. Now I would like it back on this one again now that the PC is more stable. It won't allow an installation. It keeps reporting it's already been installed. Any help would be appreciated. It must be something in the Registry that needs to go???

jackdashack and many thanks! ":-D

You might try a third party uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller to see if it will find the HP software to uninstall.

I have been using Revo for several years so no doubt it was uninstalled with REVO. I am not on that PC now and come to think of it I checked REVO to see if it was listed this morning and it is not listed. I have also searched the Registry for HP and Hewlett Packard and deleted every entry for them .... after backing up the registry of course. No luck ... would not re-install but thanks for your time and response. jackdashack ":-D

Another thing to try would be to create a new Windows' user account and see if you can install the software under that new user account.

By the way, you don't need to install HP's software, only the driver. On a lot of machines, it seems that Windows comes with the driver anyway. (or downloads the basic driver from Windows Update for you)

I believe you need more than the basic printer driver in order to scan from an HP all-in-one.

With my Brother AIO, I don't need their utility - other programs can still scan from it without it.

Yes (802.11 anyway, though I'm using ethernet instead). That said, I don't have the utility installed right now, and I can still scan over the network.

The problem is associated with the previous installation. You can use any other third party uninstaller programs to completely remove the previous installation.

How is it a problem? I only have the actual drivers installed, no utilities, and can still print and scan.
