How many new mobo's offer an eSATA Data connection on the rear of the mobo?. LOTS!!! NONE, ALSO offer a SATA Power connection next to the eSATA data connection. WHY?

Here's a Million Dollar idea for FREE. Somebody build a Slot Cover, with a SATA/eSATA data port + a SATA Power Connector. That way people can plug in a naked SATA HD + power, directly into the mobo.

Benefits: Transfer data from the Int. HD, to the Ext. HD at CPU speed. No need for slower USB3 or ancient USB2!!!

Probably cost $2.00 to build. Want to make MORE money? Include a 36 inch/1 meter combo SATA Data/Pwr. cable & sell the whole thing for $20 & make $20 Million!!!!

Somebody PLEASE market this.

You know that I am already all over this idea. Until my extra hot swap tray arrives, I am having to remove the bay, then remove the harddrive from the bay. This idea would work great since I have several eSATA ports on the back of my computer. Will be interesting to find a way to mount the power port on one of the blanks that I have lying around. Once I get it right, then I will be all over moving data, repairing harddrives, and bypassing the slower than dirt USB connections.

Will be interesting to see how this works out, faster, cleaner and certainly gives me more incentive to do tedious recovery operations. You are going to have to help me on this mod, I am sure it won't take rocket science. Also like the idea of putting the round 12volt ports for routers. Regain one or more power plugs, since the converters are usually so freaking big, they block at least one or more ports on your power strip.

I am already working up the brackets in my brain..........LATAH.

PS, I still have never seen an eSATA product, maybe they are just not common here in the Philippines?
