What Would Happen If Extreme Voltage Is Passed Into An Lcd Tv ?

What part would get damaged
first...take an example of sony
Bravia LCD...I doubt my power
company is messing around the
voltage limit and giving sudden
voltage bursts...which go around 50+volts increment often..!
I measure the voltage with the multimeter...

Well the short answer is that you would fry something. Doesn't matter much what.

I meant to ask if the power supply unit on the tv would blow first i guess its already there for its protection and rest of the parts would be intact?

Hopefully, yes. However, it's entirely possible that it'll send an excessive voltage through, and additionally kill other components in the TV.

In a perfect world, a fuse in the power supply primary would blow before any damage could be done. Most power supplies have regulators that will not pass any higher voltages and would result in a shutdown if parameters are exceeded. I'd look close for a fuse.
