Hi all. Im new to this site and would like to (a) find out more information, and (b.) help out when and if I can. The problem that I have is simple, im a mechanic by trade and use my laptop for diagnostics on cars, but when I need to use the internet I have to walk bout 200 meters to the house. The garage is getting it's power supply from my house. Would a TRENDnet TPL-401E2K 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit, or similar work in this situation or would I need to go down the route of gettin a "proper" internet connection in my shed. As it stands I have excellent connection to the net in my house.

If anyone has any comments please feel free to comment. No matter how good or bad.

Thanks in advance

According to the specs tab of the following page (scroll about half way down to the "coverage" item), you can go up to 300 m:

Thus, it should work.

Hi, jfmck20, and welcome to the forums.

I agree with SMax--it should work.

Whether it does or not is hard to say. Your power is coming from the house, but I'm not sure that something doesn't change between the two buildings that might effect a Powerline connection.

My suggestion: Try it, but buy the equipment from a retailer with a good return policy.
