Wifi vs. Powerline?
Trying to find a good networking solution because I am in a long house and the cable/wired router is in the front and I am in the back and worried about range speed of Wifi.
Looking at these Powerline adapters:

or
http://www.bestbuy.c...rline&cp=4&lp=5
Anyone use these or Powerline?
How is Powerline speed?
Powerline seems cheaper then a good N router and for my house might be more stable, right?

I'm not familiar with the brands you linked to, but we've been using Netgear powerline adapters in our house for about four years, and they work great. The router we use is wireless (also Netgear, I like their stuff) which I use for my netbook and smartphone and it is also fast, but the speed and stability of the powerline adapter is better, more consistent. I haven't done any actual measurements, this is purely subjective.

Hi, Charlie, and welcome to the forums.
It's not an either/or thing. I use Powerline to enhance WiFi.
My router, of course, has always had WiFi.
Some years ago I got a two-piece powerline starter kit (one device for the router, and one--with 3 Ethernet ports) for another room. It was from Belkin, and I don't think the model is made anymore. I bought this because I couldn't get decent WiFi reception in my TV room, and I wanted to stream video off the Internet.
Since then, I've added two d-link powerline-WiFi adapters. I think they were this one, http://www.amazon.co...r/dp/B00452V666, but I paid less than that price for them.

In my situation the only "either/or" was powerline vs. wired ethernet, and the easy solution won hands down. I'm getting too old to crawl around under the house.
