Hmm - I didn't think addons could be installed without you approving them (it's a Chrome dialog, not one from the addon or the website you got it from).

Also, am I the only one around here who uses Chrome?

I use Chrome (as well as Safari and Firefox) on my Macs. And I use Chrome (as well as IE and Firefox...and sometimes Safari) on my Windows desktop.

Safari on Windows? You know that was discontinued, right?

Yes, but previously installed versions still run just fine.

I use Chrome, and I don't have that extension.

Yes, you do need to approve an extension before it's installed, but when it comes to tricking people into approving all sorts of horrible things, malware developers are almost as skilled as politicians.

That Extension Does Not Exist On The 'CHROME WEB STORE' ( CWS ) Anymore ( Did It Ever ? ).

With The Most Recent Versions Of CHROME, Extensions Can Not Be Installed From Local Files Anymore, Only From The ( CWS ).

That Extension Can Be A Problem If It Was Already Installed Before Version 20 Or 21, But As Soon As It Is Removed It Can Not Be Installed Ever Again, Problem Solved.

That gave me a good laugh. :)

I suppose you could claim an extension is supposed to protect you from bad sites or something, like fake av software.
