Upgrading Gpu Installation

I'm getting gtx 550 for the g530 rig. I'm going to be building z77 with i5 and a gtx 560. First of the year or should I just upgrade the th67+ to an i5 2500k gtx 560 ?

I will say that I would, but that is just me. Basic boards are fine for day to day functions, but there are clear differences between them and higher end boards.

But would this board be suitable for gamming only reason I ask is if I upgrade I will be throwing it in new case with liquid cooling i5 2500k gtx 560 and a 500+ psu so if I need to change out board it would be right time todoso but as of now I only use a few programs dvdfab/handbrake/thumbgen /and steam app for gamming and I have my Pivos aios mediaplayer maped to my PC there are 2 reasons for upgrade faster ripping times with handbrake and my main focus gaming the only reason I want to keep board is so that I don't have to buy windows 7 ultimate it came installed on this machine don't have copy of disc to do clean install

Can you game on it? Yes. But in truth, higher end boards have parts in there meant to take constant high level stress. Higher quality capacitors to deal with heat better, more powerful and tighter tolerance VRMs to regulate CPU voltage, and higher quality, more accurate clock generators are all used to ensure a system that can take the stress better than entry level boards. These may sound like small things, but when you are gaming and have that odd little problem that is hard to nail down, it could easily narrow down to the board in use.

Getting a liquid cooler is excessive and unnecessary. For the most part, it is also a bit of a wasted effort. Many air coolers are more powerful, and cost less than the comparable liquid cooling systems.

I just got my new PsU my question is when I took out old psu it only had 1 4pin cpu plug my mother board has 8 pin socket but the new psu has 2 4pins that snap together is it OK to plug in all 8 pin?

Yes, those are designed to go together. Putting the two together allows the CPU to get more from the 12V rail if needed. (Fyi, if you have a 6+2 connector or an 8-pin that says PCI-E, note that those are for a GPU, NOT the 4/8pin socket next to the CPU.)
