Hi and welcome to the forums,
The black screen indicates a hardware problem so I think it's possible you have a driver conflict created by the upgrade. Have you tried booting into Safe Mode?

Could be conflicting drivers... since u did an upgrade a month ago, i assume u would have created restore points. The system automatically creates them, particularly before installing or uninstalling softwares. Boot into safe mode & run system restore. If it does'nt works, u can atleast extract data in safe mode & then use recovery disks in case u have them.
Lookin 4 trouble
U will never know what hit ya

Hi, Dylan, and welcome to the forums.
I've got a couple of questions for you, that will help us figure out your problem:
1) How soon after the upgrade did the problem start. Did you get the blank screen the first you booted into Ultimate, or was it days or week later?
2) Could you tell us exactly when the screen goes blank? When you turn on the computer, does nothing appear on the screen? Or do you see the manufacturer's logo first? Or even the Windows logo?
Thanks,
Lincoln
