Hello, I have for sentimental reasons a Panasonic CF W2 that have a strange display problem. When using the battery the displays shuts down in about 1 to 2 minutes but the power led stays on and I can open the cd tray etc. I already try 3 batteries do a complete restore with the recovery disc install a new copy of windows XP and Windows 7. The strange is when I boot in safe mode I have no display problems it works perfect. When using the AC adapter it work OK until I disconnect the AC adapter then the display shuts down. Any help appreciated.
Thanks and sorry for my English

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for it? http://www.panasonic...h-downloads.asp

If reinstalling the drivers doesn't work I would go into the power options and change the display options to a longer setting, or even "never".

What I'm saying about the drivers is that installing the newest ones off Panasonic's site might help - maybe the older ones that came with the laptop have bugs.

Hi and welcome to the forums. Hmmm, that sounds like a power saving thing for the battery seeing as how it works fine from AC. From your description, it seems to obviously be a battery issue of some sort. I am assuming that the batteries all have a full charge on them. I'm wondering how old the batteries are.

If you have one, you might want to try it on an external Monitor and see what happens.

try connect the laptop to the external monitor and see if the same display problem happens.
try reseat the RAM.
Maybe the laptop power module and/or the video card is having the problem.
Hope this helps.
