I purchased a new HP photosmart 7510e printer in August this year from Staples, after struggling with it to get it to recognise the photo tray I phoned HP support for help but they blew me off, after 2 weeks I called again and this time they did try to help and found the product to be defective, as Staples only has a 14 day return warranty HP sent me a refurbished one which worked great, sending and recieving faxes, pictures turned out great and the printer was very quite.
After installing Norton Internet Security 2013, the printer started making loud noises and kept telling me I had a paper jam when I did not, then I checked and found that Norton had changed my mac address and channel number from 11 to 1, I called cloud services but because the problem was caused by third party software they passed me back to HP support where they tried to help, they uninstalled the drivers because Norton had corrupted them and downloaded new ones from HP site, although they could not do anything about the mac address or channel number.
It is no longer making a lot of noise and prints off photo's just fine but can no longer send or recieve faxes and it still tells me I have a paper jam when I do not.
I called Norton and a supervisor was supposed to call me but no call came and that was two weeks ago, he just told me to uninstall Norton and leave it uninstalled, how stupid is that?.
If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate, I am using windows 7 64 bit IE 9 and my desktop PC is HP pavillion Elite 150f, no homegroup only the printer is wireless, DSL high spead internet.
Thanks
