Great
I am waiting for a time when ppl need not go to tourist places wasting huge amount of money and causing co2 emmissions from transportation.
All u would need is to say "Visit Pyramids" and lo u are virtually transported there in 3D.
With abundence of 3D TVs and monitors the effect will be great.
But the best part would be using wearable 3D monitors like that of Sony headgear but it requires refinements. If google develops such 3D headgear , it would be great.
Great for saving plant Earth
Lets hope we remain alive to watch that.

Uhh, Apple's maps has nothing to do with this. Google didn't update because of the new iOS map app. Google's been working constantly on this.
Also, virtually visiting some place just isn't the same as experiencing it first hand. Anyway, it'll be a long time before we get anything close to experiencing a setting in a realistic way, even with technology advancing as fast as it is.
