Hi everyone
I know many people ask what is the best antivirus but I just wanted to explain what I need and see if I can get some recomendations and if people can explain the pros and cons of programs then maybe that will help me choose.
Basically I want something that'snot going to slow my computer down and is easy to use but obviously something reliable too. I generally use the internet for email, browsing social networking, some odd internet banking, someone else uses it for some online betting and I also download certain tv shows since my DVD recorder broke, and sometimes I stream tv shows or sports. Some of these torrent sites worry me so I feel I need something good and maybe not a free anti virus, but I could be wrong? A lot of people have recommended AVG or Avast free.
I'm happy to pay around £50 though.
I've heard a lot of people say Bitdefender is good, but also read that Norton is now very good and doesn't slow down systems. I was also interested in Avast's paid antivirus for the Sandbox option, can anyone tell me if it's worth it or if any other programs allow you to surf virtually through a sandbox feature?
At the moment I have McCafee for my laptop which expires soon (I take it the software will run fine but I just won't get updates) but people tell me McCafee is not very good so since I'm paying I'd rather pay for something that's worth paying for!
Thanks very much.

Microsoft Security Essentials and Avast Free are both great free AV programs. (note: do NOT use more than one AV program at once, as they can conflict and cause problems.) For removing malware, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is good. (this IS designed to work with other AV programs, and it's not real-time, so this is an exception.)
