I have a Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 and the driver for it says it is not compatible with Windows 8 Pro. It was showing USB 2.0 Webcam with a red ? meaning the driver was missing. I installed the old driver and says it is not compatible with Winodws 8 Pro. I looked for a new driver in the microsoft download site and couldn't find any. I don't want to shell out another few bucks if this cam still will work.

Firstly download the Windows 7 driver http://www.microsoft...lifecam-vx-6000
After you have finished downloading the driver, left click the file (LifeCam3.22) and go into properties.
The next step is to click on the compatibility tab and and tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
then you have to choose "Windows 7" from the drop-down menu. Also tick the "Run this program as an administrator" box.
After you did that, click on "apply" and "ok".
