About every 5 minutes our Acer S231HL display pops up a message saying AUTOCONFIG PLEASEWAIT and the row of icons pops up in the bottom right corner. This autoconfig blocks the center of the screen makin me wait to complete what i am working on. How do I turn this off??? Running Windows 7 on a new PC computer. Very annoying. Thanks for any help.

I happen to have that exact model, and I've never seen that issue. (using DVI) Are you using VGA?
Also, just out of curiosity, does yours say 'Cable not connected' when you shut down your PC (but the monitor is still connected)?
