I a looking to purchase a new system for my teen son for gaming also that I can use for editing video/photos.
You seem to know ur stuff would u be willing to share some advice?
Resurching AMD graphics, processors etc.
value/ performance is important to me.
Narrowing it down but when it comes to pulling it all together I'm having a difficult time.
Example this processor with that graphics etc. speed/performance/
Above is a link to a few I am considering but stuck on what is best combination to look for
Ps I do want something that will not be outdated next year. I tend to upkeep computers to well and they last forever for me
Looking to spend $700 range but will spend more if it is a better value.
Ur the best if u deside to share ur knowledge / experience with me,
Respectfuly, Samantha

If you look at my PC specs in my signature, thats a good way to go.
I just ordered a better video card for it.
Mine wont be outdated for a coons age.
Mine is kinda just one step behind the newest and best so its cheaper to build.
If you find a tech that works out of his basement he will charge you about 100 bucks to build it, so you could get something like mine built for about 800 bucks. Not including monitor.

I will check it out. U say its out dated for my teen though what would u consider the newest/ greatest out there now?
Any thoughts on best buy choices pre-built? FYI hate to do it but I have a charge with them/ no interest and do not have the cash on hand to build. But do have a brother in law who can add/etc. has updated my old ptc as far as I can take it. That's why we are looking for new.
Any suggestions ? Ur the best

Brother in law could build it.
Latest and greatest, your looking at 1200 bucks or so.
Off the shelf PC is 30 to 50% more than building one so that would be throwing your money away. Best buy is always to build one, not buy one.

I think that a machine with an i3 or i5 and maybe a 7750 or 7770 would work well. (Or possibly an AMD Vishera CPU - I don't think an APU is a good choice at that price.)
Also, prebuilts can actually be pretty competitive at lower price ranges. (A gaming prebuilt is just stupid though.) That said, if you build your own, you can get exactly what you want in it. It's not that hard for a newbie to do.

I also recommend the Intel version of these machines found here: http://www.bestbuy.c...=specifications
The Intel i5 @ 3.4Ghz easily has more power than any of the AMD FX based machines.
The Nvidia 650 is also more powerful than the 7770 depending on the game.
All of the machines rock 8GB of ram.
To be honest, the original poster found herself some very nice choices to work from.

I think it's best if the OP tries Windows 8 in a store, and decides for themselves. As it is, I find metro screws up what's otherwise a nice OS.
Btw I'm a bit wary of iBuyPower: http://www.mywot.com...nt=popup-donuts

Of the 3 I recommend SKU: 6979787
It will give you all you need.
Its the cheapest and paying more for the others is not worth a small performance gain.
You may not be able to overclock any of the 3 because off the shelf PCs are often made so that they wont let you overclock. Even if you can overclock you have to install a better CPU cooler.

IbuyPower Model: GAMER POWER BB742i SKU: 6979905. At $850
And sorry Snorg, but the i5 is well worth every penny over the AMD FX 8xxx series.
The Nvidia 660 makes this other machine a steal though.

I have AT&T as my wireless company, I know I upgraded to the best speed they had but can't remember off hand what that is.
Any thoughts. Should we set this PC up to be wired to the cable not wireless or better yet should I put a better network card in it??
