It used to simply be click "View" -> Zoom and adjust it. Still is that way in LibreOffice. If it takes a whole article to explain how to do it in Word, something's been over-engineered.

No kidding, Fatesrider.

Meanwhile, a recent move from Word (Win) to Word (Mac) now finds that some .docs are opening at 'page width' - my preference - while others are opening at 100%, so lots of background right and left of .doc

Tedious to have to open all my docs, reset zoom parameters and then Save each one to regain viewing control.

But. like you said - over-engineered - and I daresay, way too many features that 90% don't really need / want / know is available, with all the bloat that entails. With Office (in one form or another) keeping Microsoft afloat, perhaps they need to remember IIABDFI (If It Ain't Broke...)

How about Ctrl+scroll wheel? Works much easier and with many applications (browsers too).

You know what? It's even easier in Word. Use the + and - buttons at the lower-right of the window. I don't know why this needed an article.

Rick, thank you very much for this bit of information---as for the above comments similar to "iamapcgeek'--maybe I should be "iamawannabepcgeek"
or "iwillbeapcgeek" or "iwillneverbeapcgeek"
all these guys forget there are other users that are not as familiar with the Office Programs as they apparently are, or that there was a day they appreciated a small bit of information to assist them through their projects---Office is a group of porgrams that I struggle with, I have many issues with the automatic controls and how to easily adjust them, this new style ribbon control has never been an issue, but fonts, page breaks, how to separate one page from a group, many issues are mine---hey guys, recall there are others reading these articles, they do not belong to just YOU
thanks Rick, you get cookies from me
